I love Fantine, too. In this picture, I think the dress is the most striking part -- it has such a clear outline and contrast with the rest of the image, and I really like how the direction of the pastel strokes follows the contours of the dress, drawing the eye to how it's draped off of one shoulder. Poor, poor Fantine!
